Main Street Bath Heritage Days Parade Cmmercial St., Bath, ME Dear Friends, Main Street Bath and The Bath Heritage Days cmmittee invite yu t participate in Maine s largest Independence Day parade n Thursday July 4, 2019 at 10:00am This years parade theme is Independence Rcks! There are a lt f innvative ways t play up this theme. Maybe a rck band, r smething with rcking chairs, r literally rcks! Yu may als just chse yur wn theme. All that yur entry needs is spirited participatin, imaginatin, and lts f nise t excite the crwd. The parade has a 100 entry limit s be sure t get yur frms COMPLETELY filled ut and back t the Main Street Bath ffice prir t June 20th. Please include a clearly written return mailing address with yur COMPLETED entry packet including a check written ut t Main Street Bath fr $25 (entry fee). A cnfirmatin packet that will include yur entry line up number will be sent ut n June 25th. Again this year we will be hlding pre parade registratin at the Main Street Bath ffice n July 3rd frm 5:00 until 7:00 fr thse wh have received their cnfirmatin packets and line up number this will allw each entry t g directly t line up n parade mrning thus aviding the parade check in madness. Please take nte that the judges are required t cnsider hw well a unit is decrated cnsistent with the theme. All awards are determined at the discretin f the judges. Awards will be sent ut via mail the week fllwing the parade and the winners will be listed n the Main Street Bath website and Facebk page. 5 Independence Rcks! HERITAGE DAYS PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS The Parade Cmmittee reserves the right t limit the number f entries in each categry. Parade entrants must bserve all applicable Rules and Regulatins r be barred frm the parade. Main Street Bath and the Heritage Days Parade Cmmittee reserve the right t remve frm the parade either prir t assembly, at assembly r at any time during the parade any entrant nt cnfrming t the Rules and Regulatins, r any entrant refusing t fllw instructins f plice r parade fficials. First and fremst, we encurage all parade applicants t cnsider in advance hw t decrate r craft their entry t fllw the theme fr the Parade. We lve creativity and applaud thse wh display it! All entries must have sme frm f theme related music, humr, r entertainment purpse and participants shuld be in cstumes r be a spnsr. Therefre, vehicles with a business name and n ther frm f decratin will nt be allwed t enter the Line-Up. Classic cars d nt need additinal decratins; hwever, cstumes are strngly encuraged fr participants. Remember, play t the crwd - yu are a perfrmer n Bath s largest stage! Enjy! N items may be thrwn int the crwd frm an entry. This includes, but is nt limited t: candy, fd, pencils, silly string, etc. Entrants attracting children int the Parade rute will be remved frm the Parade. Please be safety cnscius! Candy and flags may be handed ut by walkers n the same side f the street as the walker, n crssing during the Parade n handuts, letters, publicity, cupns nr printed materials f any kind. (Paper items are difficult t clean up and nt permitted.) Abslutely n stpping during the entire Parade Rute. This is dangerus and creates huge gaps which delay the mvement and prlngs the length fr everyne. Parade vlunteers designated by Main Street Bath will check entries the day f the parade t crrespnd with their registratin frm. Mtrized entries must be prperly licensed, registered, inspected if applicable, and have prf f insurance n the day f the parade. Decratin cannt impede driver visin. All entries will be reviewed and must be declared in cmpliance with the rules t jin the parade. All units must be prperly cnstructed t minimize the chance f a breakdwn during the parade. In case any flat breaks dwn, btain help frm parade fficials t quickly push entry ut f line f the march and ver the curb. In the event a flat develps a flat tire r fr any ther reasn cannt prceed under its wn pwer r be twed, quickly remve it frm the parade rute at the nearest intersectin. All parade entries are t prceed arund any such prblem. The parade must keep mving. N vehicles are allwed t park in the frmatin area unless part f an entry. Vehicles must park in designated areas.

6 An adult must be n flats where there are children. The rati f adults t children shuld be 1:5 fr children belw the age f 16. Children riding in back f pickup trucks must be seated at all times behind rails r sides f the truck. Trucks must have clsed tailgates r enclsed backs. N parade participant may ride with feet hanging ver the side f the entry. The use and/r pssessin f any alchlic beverage r illegal drugs by any unit/entry r participating member are strictly frbidden. N smking n r near flats. There must be an adult attending the flat at all times. All parade entries cntaining animals must have designated Waste Pick-Up Peple r Pper Scpers fllwing clsely behind t quickly remve piles frm the street. Entries that d nt have this type f assistance will nt be allwed t enter the parade. Entrants are expected t mnitr their animals fr safety & cmfrt, ensure they are under the handler s cntrl, and make prvisins fr water alng the rute. Dgs and ther husehld pets must have the pprtunity t ride fr a prtin f the parade rute, if animal appears distress a parade vlunteer will ask yur unit t exit the parade rute. Specify if yu wish t use yur siren r hrn s that we dn t place yu near any animals r musical entries by clearly marking registratin packet SIREN, HORN. The parade frmatin and staging area is at the Bath Middle Schl. All parade entries must have their designated rep check in at the registratin table t receive yur entry number. (Be sure t infrm yur grup f yur parade line-up number when yu receive it in the mail.) After checking in at the registratin table, (limit the cntact t ne r tw peple, please) yu and yur parade entry shuld remain in the designated parade area as many entries will be judged prir t the parade. Bathrms are lcated at the Bath Middle Schl. Tw Safety Statins will be available at varius sites alng the Parade Rute. Please bserve the Lcatin Sign f the available restrms at the Registratin Table & cnvey this infrmatin t yur grup. There will be shuttle transprtatin available at the end f the parade fr thse that need a ride back t the parade line-up site. Please infrm the Parade Cmmittee if yur entry will need the shuttle with yur return registratin packet clearly marked RIDE.
