2 #35 ROCKIES STARTING PITCHER CHAD BETTIS RHP Height: 6-0 Weight: 209 Age: 29 (April 26, 1989) Born: Lubbock, Texas Acquired: Selected in 2nd round, 2010 ACROSS THE BOARD The Lubbock, Texas, native a member of his third career Opening Day roster in his sixth Major League season. Selected by the Rockies in the second round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Texas Tech University. Attended Monterey High School in Lubbock was named to the all-region team before his senior season drafted by the Houston Astros in the eighth round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign. BACK AT IT Will be making his first start since Aug. 12 vs. Los Angeles-NL pitched 6.1 innings and allowed one run on three hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right middle finger blister on July 3 reinstated Aug. 7 and made two starts before being moved to the bullpen allowed nine runs to Pittsburgh at Coors Field on Aug. 7.
