DJ Myers (3-3, 5.98 ERA) is slated to make the start on the mound for the Giants this evening. Following the weekend series versus the Storm, San Jose continues their homestand with a three-game set against Rancho Cucamonga. The Giants San Jose dropped two out of three games at Visalia in their most recent series. It marked the Giants 20th consecutive winless series at Visalia s Recreation Park dating back to April 2013 (16 series losses, four series splits). San Jose is 4-12 in their last 16 games overall. Following last night s loss, the Giants (48-63) fell to a seasonhigh tying 15 games below.500. San Jose has won only one series in the second half (3-1 vs. Visalia, July 13-16). The Giants have lost their last five series overall. One Month To Go Exactly one month remains in the California League regular season (season finale: September 3). Brusa Bash Gio Brusa hit his team-leading 17th home run of the season in Wednesday s victory over Visalia. 15 of his 17 homers have come on the road. Brusa has equaled his 2017 home run total with San Jose. He hit 17 homers in 113 games with the Giants last year and has clubbed 17 home runs in just 84 games this season. With 34 career homers, Brusa is just two home runs away from cracking the San Jose Giants career top five list (Travis Ishikawa and Angel Villalona are tied for fourth in club history with 36 HR each). The Long Ball San Jose leads all North Division clubs and ranks third in the California League with 93 home runs this season. The Giants have hit 42 home runs in 41 second half games.
