Domenic Mazza (3-4, 3.99 ERA) is slated to make the start on the mound tonight. San Jose is against Stockton this season, including a 5-6 mark at home. Following the current series against Stockton, the Giants will host Modesto in a four-game set from Friday-Monday that will close out the 2018 season. Road Trip Review The Giants posted a 3-4 record during their just-completed road trip. San Jose took two of three games in Visalia to open the trip their only road series win of the second half before they dropped three of four at Modesto. San Jose finishes the season with a road record (12-23 in the second half). Eliminated From Playoff Contention The Giants (23-40 second half) have been eliminated from postseason contention. Miller Named Postseason All-Star Jalen Miller was named to the postseason California League All-Star team last week. Miller was San Jose s lone selection to the team. The former third round draft pick is batting.278 with 34 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 61 RBI s and 11 stolen bases in 117 games. Miller is currently rated the #23 prospect in the San Francisco organization by MLB.com and was also a midseason California League All-Star. Miller entered 2018 with a career.224 batting average over his first three professional seasons. The Long Ball San Jose leads all North Division clubs and ranks third in the California League with 111 home runs this season. The Giants have hit 60 home runs in 63 second half games. Conversely, San Jose has already allowed 78 home runs in the second half more than twice as many as their 36 homers surrendered in the entire first half. Climbing The Charts Gio Brusa has hit 36 career home runs with the San Jose Giants, which is tied for fourth in team-history (Travis Ishikawa, Angel Villalona) and the most ever by a switch hitter.
