On The Road The Giants are 3-2 thus far on their road trip. San Jose began the trip by picking-up one victory during a three-game series in Lancaster before collecting back-to-back wins over Bakersfield the last two nights. In Search Of Winning Trip A victory tonight or tomorrow would give the Giants a winning road trip for the first time in the second half. San Jose last posted a better than.500 record on a road trip when they went 8-6 during their season-high 14- game trip from May The Giants are 5-2 in their last seven road games overall after losing 11 out of their previous 13 away from Municipal Stadium. Reyes (4-4) LP: Morales (3-5) S: Young (3) Jose Reyes, Jeff Soptic and Pat Young combined on a four-hitter in San Jose s 3-1 victory over the Bakersfield Blaze last night at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Dylan Davis and Miguel Gomez each smacked a solo home run to lead the Giants offensive charge as San Jose won their second straight over the Blaze to open the series. Reyes earned the win after pitching the first five innings with one run allowed. Reyes surrendered four hits, walked three and struck out six. Soptic then tossed three hitless innings with a pair of strikeouts before Young pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth for the save. The trio combined to not allow a hit over the final 4 2/3 innings.
