PADRES ON DECK: On Wednesday night, the Padres' farm system saw solid pitching performances from right-handers in Double-A San Antonio and Single-A Fort Wayne... starter Brett Kennedy allowed one run on six hits with five strikeouts in 5.0 innings... Trey Wingenter struck out two in a perfect ninth to pick up his 12th save. For Fort Wayne, Pedro Avila (acquired from WSH for C Derek Norris) allowed three hits and a walk with 11 strikeouts as the TinCaps shut out Clinton...Hansel Rodriguez amassed another strong performance since moving to the bullpen, completing the shutout by striking out two in a hitless, scoreless inning of work. DATES IN PADRES HISTORY: On July 20, 1976, Randy Jones allowed four hits in a complete-game shutout of PHI at San Diego Stadium for his 17th win that season. 2 TONIGHT S STARTER #46 - JHOULYS CHACIN - RHP CHACIN S TURN: 29-year-old Jhoulys Chacin (pronunciation: JO-lease sha-seen) will take the mound tonight for his 20th start of the season, 10th on the road, against the San Francisco Giants. Is making his second consecutive start against SF and third of the season...is 2-0 with a 3.06 ERA (6 ER, 17.2 IP) while limiting Giants hitters to a.209 batting average in Is 7-6 with a 3.40 ERA (39 ER, IP) in his 18 career appearances (17 starts) against the Giants.
