CBS Sports Network will televise the game live at 1 p.m. Dating back to March 23, 2016, Loyola is averaging 12.5 goals over its last 34 games. The Greyhounds have scored less than only five times in that span. As a by product of that, the Greyhounds rank fifth nationally in scoring margin, bettering opponents by 4.11 per game. Foster Huggins leads NCAA Division I in caused turnovers per game with 3.67 in Last Time Out Colgate scored just four goals in settled six-on-six offense, one in the final five seconds of regulation, and Loyola posted an 11-7 Patriot League win over the host Raiders on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds forced 19 Colgate turnovers, and Jacob Stover made saves, three coming on 1-versus-1 opportunities during the fourth quarter. Colgate entered the game ranked fourth in NCAA Division I with goals per game, but the Raiders tallied two of their goals on extra-man and one in transition. Three Loyola players dot the top- in the Patriot League in goals per game: Jay Drapeau (2nd, 2.67), Pat Spencer (8th, 2.11) and Kevin Lindley (th, 2.0). Pat Spencer has recorded two or more points in all but two of the 44 games to start his collegiate career, and he has 23 multi-goal and 32 multi-assist games. He has scored a point in all 44 outings. Spencer is second in NCAA Division I in assists (3.56) and fourth in points (5.67) this season. As a team, Loyola is second nationally in caused turnovers per game (.67). career-high with four goals, a total that came on just six shots, while Pat Spencer had two goals and four assists for the Greyhounds. John Duffy added two goals and an assist. Loyola was credited with 11 caused turnover, six by Foster Huggins who was the nation s leader with 3.38 caused turnovers per game prior to Saturday. Loyola opened up a 5-1 lead in the second quarter, scoring the only three first-quarter goals during the game. The Greyhounds won the turnover battle, with to Colgate s 19. Five of their miscues came in the first 15 minutes.

Lehigh s leading scorer with 26 goals and 34 points entering the game, Petitt was held scoreless by Carrigan and the Loyola defensive unit. He had been the only player in NCAA Division I to score two or more goals in every game this season prior to this afternoon. As a whole, Lehigh s starters combined for just three goals and two assists. Jacob Stover made six saves and allowed just three goals for the Greyhounds, while Sam Beazell also stopped two shots. Loyola had a lead in ground balls against a team that entered 11th in the NCAA with an average of per contest. The Greyhounds also posted a advantage in shots, and they were credited with 11 caused turnovers on 14 Mountain Hawks miscues. Zack Sirico tallied the game s first goal 2:41 into the action as John Duffy hit him with a high-to-low pass at the backside pipe for an extra-man tally, but Lehigh responded with two-straight scores. Ian Strain converted a Matt Raposo feed for a goal at :44, and Tristan Rai scored unassisted at 9:21 to stake the Mountain Hawks to a 2-1 advantage. They held the lead for more than four minutes until Alex McGovern scored to culminate a Loyola transition run. That goal kicked off a -0 run by Loyola as the Greyhounds held Lehigh scoreless for the final 9:21 of the first quarter and all of the second and third periods. The Mountain Hawks did not score again until Mickey Fitzpatrick broke through with a tally at 13:07 in the fourth quarter, ending a 41-minute, 24-second scoreless stretch. Midseason Honors Two Loyola players were among those named to the Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans last week. Pat Spencer and Foster Huggins were each named to the First Team by vote of media members. They were each one of three at their respective positions, attack and close defense. From The Middle Jay Drapeau has scored two or more goals in eight of the Greyhounds nine games this season, and he leads the team with 24 goals and is second with 29 points. He had hat tricks (or better) against Johns Hopkins, Lafayette, Duke, Navy and Colgate, and he had two each against Virginia, Towson and Bucknell. Dating back to April 15, 2017, Drapeau has posted eight of his nine career hat tricks and is averaging 2.4 goals per game over 14 outings. This season, his 24 goals rank sixth nationally amongst NCAA Division I midfielders.

Army West Point Better Than Average Day Pat Spencer has put up big numbers throughout his career, but his final stats line at Navy on March 17 trended into the record-setting category. Spencer finished with four goals and eight assists with his 12 points tying the Loyola record for most in a game. He matched the 12 put up by Gary Hanley on April 25, 1979, against Morgan State University, and the 12 are the most by a Greyhounds player since the school moved to NCAA Division I in Spencer s eight assists are the most by a NCAA Division I player this year this season, and the 12 points match that of Albany s Connor Fields against Massachusetts. His eight assists are third in school single-game history, behind the nine he had in 2017 against Holy Cross and nine Hanley posted in the aforementioned game against the Bears. Against Lafayette on February 25, 2017 (the 21st game of his career), he crossed the 0-point mark for his career, and he became the school s second player with 200 or more points in his 40th career game (March, 2018, versus Duke). Spencer now has 82 goals, 135 assists and 217 points. On March 4, 2018, at Holy Cross (his 39th career game), Spencer moved into sole possession of both points and assists at Loyola. He trails only Gary Hanley ( ) in career points (311) and assists (160) at the school. Spencer s 139 assists rank second all-time in the Patriot League, and his 223 points are fifth. With three more assists, Spencer will tie the Patriot League record of 142 set by the U.S. Military Academy s Tim Pearson from Locking Down Loyola has held its nine opponents to an average of 8.56 goals per game this season with only four Duke, Virginia, Navy and Bucknell scoring more than eight. The Greyhounds held a stretch of four opponents Johns Hopkins, Lafayette, Towson and Holy Cross to only 23 combined goals, an average of 5.75 per game. Only Towson (eight) scored more than five in those games. Overall this season, Loyola opponents have committed 168 turnovers, 96 of which have come via Loyola caused turnovers. Putting The Ball On The Ground Through eight games this season, Loyola is ranked second nationally in caused turnovers per game, averaging.67 per game. Foster Huggins tops all individuals with 3.67 per contest, an average buoyed by his seven against Johns Hopkins on February 17 and six at Colgate on March 31. Huggins has had three or more caused turnovers in seven of the nine Greyhounds games, all except the contests against Lafayette and Bucknell. Huggins seven caused turnovers against the Blue Jays rank second in school history since the stat has been officially tracked, and it is tied for seventh-most in NCAA history. Last year, the Greyhounds finished fifth in NCAA Division I with 9.31 per game. Picking Up Where He Left Off Pat Spencer was involved in the first four goals of the 2018 season when Loyola opened the year at Virginia, recording two goals and a pair of assists in the first quarter against the Cavaliers. After finishing that game with three goals and two assists, Spencer, who is a member of the USILA Preseason Player of the Year Watch List, now has 37 multi-point game in 42 career outings. He is fourth in Division I in assists per game (3.5) this year and fifth in points (5.63). Honors were a large part of his 2016 freshman campaign for the Greyhounds, one in which he was named to the USILA All-America Second Team. He also became the first player in Patriot League history to outright win the conference s Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year honors. In 18 games during 2016, Spencer led Loyola in points (89), assists (52) and goals (37, tied), and against North Carolina in the NCAA Semifinals, Spencer tied Gary Hanley s 1982 record for points in a season with 89. Hanley and Spencer are the only two players in Loyola history to score 80 or more in one year; Hanley did so three times in 1979 (83), 1980 (86) and 1981 (89). Two weeks earlier versus Duke, Spencer eclipsed the school Division I mark of 71 shared by Eric Lusby (2012) and Justin Ward (2014). He followed his stellar freshman campaign with an equally big sophomore season, scoring 28 goals with 55 assists for 83 points. His 55 assists set a Patriot League and Loyola single-season record, and his 83 points were fifth in school single-season history, third

His 3.44 assists per game ranked second in NCAA Division I, and he was sixth with 5.19 points per contest in A 2017 Tewaaraton Award finalist, Spencer has recorded two or more points in all but two of his 42 collegiate games. He has 23 multi-goal games and 31 multi-assist outings. He is first among active NCAA Division I players in assists per game (3.23) and fourth in points per game (5.19). His 223 career points are fifth among active players with all three players ahead of him in their fourth years of competition; he is second in career assists (139). Defense Making A Stand Over the last 19 games ( in 2017, nine in 2018) beginning with a March 18, 2017 win over the U.S. Naval Academy Loyola s defense has allowed just 7.68 goals per game, limiting opponents to 33.2 shots in the process. The Greyhounds also have an advantage of in turnovers ( ) as they have gone 13-6 during the stretch. Of its opponents 320 turnovers in the last 19 games, Loyola has caused 199. Stover s Last Nineteen Jacob Stover finished his sophomore season of 2017 fourth in NCAA Division I and tops in the Patriot League in goals-against average (7.74) while ranking 13th and second in saves percentage (.547). His numbers were outstanding in the Greyhounds last games of the season. After five contests to open the year, he had a.41 goals-against average while saving 50 percent of shots on goal. Including the first nine games of this season, for a total of Loyola s last 19 games, those numbers have moved to 7.32 and 55.9 percent. Freshmen Contributing Offensively Two freshmen Kevin Lindley and Aidan Olmstead start for the Greyhounds on attack, and each have received Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors two of the last three weeks. Olmstead was the most-recent recipient, earning the recognition on March 19 after posting a career-high four goals at Navy two days prior. He followed that performance with a career-high six points and four assists on March 24 against Bucknell; Olmstead now has goals and 12 assists, a total that is second on the team, for 22 points. Lindley set a Patriot League and Loyola freshman scoring record March 4 at Holy Cross by tallying eight goals in a 13-5 win over the Crusaders. His eight goals are one off the school record of nine set in 1986 by John Carroll against Washington & Lee University. It also matches the No. 2 mark in Patriot League history, held by six other players. The eight goals were the most by a Loyola player since Gavin Prout scored eight against Hobart College in Earlier in the week, the freshman from Darien, Connecticut, set a career-high with three goals in the Greyhounds win over Towson. In the two games, he finished with 11 goals and an assist, earning Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors and a spot on the USILA National Team of the Week. Lindley is currently second on the team with 18 goals. Turnover Battle Loyola has posted 55 fewer turnovers this season in nine games, recording the same number or less miscues than its opponents in every game this season. Century Mark Charley Toomey won the 0th game of his head coaching career Feb. 27, 2016, against Lafayette College, becoming just the second coach in Loyola men s lacrosse history to do so. Toomey is in his 13th year at Loyola and is since 2006 at the helm of the Greyhounds program. Get To Ten Since Charley Toomey became head coach at Loyola in 2006, the Greyhounds have scored or more goals on 112 occasions; Loyola has won 79.5 percent of those games (89-23). 6 Head Coach Charley Toomey 12th Season Loyola 90 Charley Toomey, who is in his 13th season as a collegiate head coach, has put his stamp on the Loyola men s lacrosse program as a disciplined, tough, athletic and skillful unit. The Greyhounds ascended to the top of college lacrosse in 2012, winning Loyola s first-ever NCAA Division I Championship. Toomey entered the 2018 season with a career record in his first 12 years at Loyola. Early in the 2016 season, Toomey became the second coach in program history to reach and cross the 0- win plateau. He stands second on the program s all-time wins chart behind his college coach, Dave Cottle (181-70, ). Loyola completed one of the finest years in school history in 2016, bouncing back from a 4-3 start to the regular-season to win -straight games. During that stretch, Loyola won the Patriot League Championship, coasting to a 14-6 victory over the U.S. Military Academy in the title game. The Greyhounds then won two NCAA Tournament games in rematches of games they lost to teams during the regular-season. Loyola logged win over Duke University when it hosted the Blue Devils in the NCAA First Round, and it then traveled to Columbus, Ohio, for the NCAA Quarterfinals. There, the Greyhounds downed Towson University, -8, to advance to Championship Weekend. Loyola finished the season with a 14-4 record, the third-most wins in program history, and it was ranked No. 4 nationally in the final media poll of the season by Inside Lacrosse. His 2013 and 2014 squad garnered return trips to the NCAA First Round, and over the last two years, Toomey and his staff have coached 19 players who earned All-America honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The 2012 Loyola squad set several program records and tied the NCAA Division I record for wins in a season with 18. The Greyhounds lost just a single game during the year, winning the ECAC regular-season and tournament championships en route to the national title. During the year, the Greyhounds featured one of the most balanced teams in the nation, finishing fifth in scoring defense (7.51 goals allowed per game) and eighth in scoring offense (12.05). Loyola s transition game was also vaunted during the year, and the Greyhounds unit has been heralded as one of the nation s best for several seasons. Toomey has coached 25 players from who earned USI- LA All-America honors, including Joe Fletcher who was named the 2014 National Defensive Player of the Year. Toomey was also a member of the NCAA Division I Men s Lacrosse Committee, a group responsible for selection of the NCAA Championships field and administration of the tournament. Toomey s dedication to the program stems from his long ties to the Loyola community, dating back to the day he stepped onto campus as a freshman student-athlete in He has been involved in 14 of the 20 NCAA D-I Tournament appearances in program history - three as a player, five as an assistant coach and four as a head coach. As a student-athlete at Loyola from , Toomey was a twotime All-America selection at goalie, garnering honorable mention honors in 1989 and third-team accolades in He owns two of Loyola s top six single-game save performances in the cage, and ranks amongst the Greyhounds all-time save leaders.
