The game will air live, nationally on CBS Sports Network with a 7 p.m. start. Dating back to March 23, 2016, Loyola is averaging goals over its last 37 games. The Greyhounds have scored less than 10 only five times in that span. Pat Spencer set the Patriot League career assists record in only his 45th career game at Georgetown. He now has 153, seven away from tying the Loyola mark. Loyola has a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series. Army West Point won the initial game between the teams, 9-3, at the end of the 1943 season, but it took 71 years for the teams to meet again. Loyola won the first meeting as Patriot League opponents, 7-6, on March 15, 2014, at Ridley Athletic Complex. Spencer is the NCAA Division I active career leader in assists with 153, a total tied for 16th in NCAA history with the University of Delaware s Anthony DiMarzo ( ). With three more points, Spencer will tie the Patriot League all-time record for points, matching the 249 amassed by Chris Cara (Bucknell, ) in four seasons. Closing In On Loyola Marks In addition to his Patriot League records, Pat Spencer is seven assists shy of tying Gary Hanley s ( ) career record of 160 at Loyola. He is 65 points away from Hanley s 311 career points that are a Greyhounds best. Spencer has 93 goals through 46 career games, a total tied with Mark Frey ( ) for 14th all-time at the school. With seven more scores, Spencer will be the 10th player to score 100 or more goals at Loyola. Against Lafayette on February 25, 2017 (the 21st game of his career), he crossed the 100-point mark for his career, and he became the school s second player with 200 or more points in his 40th career game (March 10, 2018, versus Duke). On March 4, 2018, at Holy Cross (his 39th career game), Spencer moved into sole possession of both points and assists at Loyola. Weekly Honors Three Greyhounds Pat Spencer (Offensive), Foster Huggins (Defensive) and Aidan Olmstead (Rookie) earned Patriot League weekly awards after Loyola s wins over Georgetown and Boston University. Spencer was also named to the USILA National Team of the Week with a combined 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in the two games. Huggins award was his third in as many weeks and fifth of the season. His five awards in one season tie former Loyola All-American Joe Fletcher (2014) for the most in one year, and he is also tied with the U.S. Naval Academy s Matt Russell ( ) for most in a career. Spencer now has three Offensive Player of the Week honors this year and six in his career. Olmstead earned his recognition for the second time this season. From The Middle Jay Drapeau has scored two or more goals in 10 of the Greyhounds 12 games this season, and he leads the team with 31 goals and is second with 38 points. He had hat tricks (or better) against Johns Hopkins, Lafayette, Duke, Navy, Colgate and Georgetown, and he had two each against Virginia, Towson, Bucknell and Boston University. Dating back to April 15, 2017, Drapeau has posted nine of his 10 career hat tricks and is averaging 2.59 goals per game over 17 outings. This season, his 31 goals are tied for fifth nationally amongst NCAA Division I midfielders. Shot Selection Despite taking 49 shots against Boston University, Loyola shot.469 against the Terriers, raising its season shooting percentage to.360. The Greyhounds have shot 30 percent or better in just two of the last 10 seasons (.312 in 2014;.301 in 2017). Loyola s shot percentage leads the Patriot League and is sixth in NCAA Division I. Of the players on Loyola s starting attacker and first and second midfields, all are shooting.273 or better, and eight of the nine are.300 or higher. Duffy Increases Production John Duffy tied his career-high with four points (2 goals, 2 assists) against Lehigh on April 7, matching the production he had in the 2018 season-opener at Virginia. He matched his career-high for the third time this season with three goals against Boston University. Duffy has 18 goals and six assists this season, career-highs in both categories in just 12 games. Last season, he had goals and four assists in 16 outings. Better Than Average Day Pat Spencer has put up big numbers throughout his career, but his final stats line at Navy on March 17 trended into the record-setting category. Spencer finished with four goals and eight assists with his 12 points tying the Loyola record for most in a game. He matched the 12 put up by Gary Hanley on April 25, 1979, against Morgan State University, and the 12 are the most by a Greyhounds player since the school moved to NCAA Division I in Spencer s eight assists are the most by a NCAA Division I player this year this season, and the 12 points match that of Albany s Connor Fields against Massachusetts. His eight assists are third in school single-game history, behind the nine he had in 2017 against Holy Cross and nine Hanley posted in the aforementioned game against the Bears. Locking Down Loyola has held its 12 opponents to an average of 8.67 goals per game this season with only six scoring more than eight. Overall this season, Loyola opponents have committed 210 turnovers, 120 of which have come via Loyola caused turnovers.

Huggins seven caused turnovers against the Blue Jays rank second in school history since the stat has been officially tracked, and it is tied for seventh-most in NCAA history. Turnover Battle Loyola has posted 62 fewer turnovers than its opponents this season in 12 games, recording the same number or less miscues than its opponents in all but one game (Georgetown) this season. Defense Making A Stand Over the last 21 games (10 in 2017, 11 in 2018) beginning with a March 18, 2017 win over the U.S. Naval Academy Loyola s defense has allowed just 7.76 goals per game, limiting opponents to 31.7 shots in the process. The Greyhounds also have an advantage of in turnovers ( ) as they have gone 15-6 during the stretch. Of its opponents 343 turnovers in the last 21 games, Loyola has caused 212. Stover s Last Twenty-Two Jacob Stover finished his sophomore season of 2017 fourth in NCAA Division I and tops in the Patriot League in goals-against average (7.74) while ranking th and second in saves percentage (.547). His numbers were outstanding in the Greyhounds last 10 games of the season. After five contests to open the year, he had a goals-against average while saving 50 percent of shots on goal. Including the first 12 games of this season, for a total of Loyola s last 22 games, his goalsagainst average is 7.40, while his save percentage is Freshmen Contributing Offensively Two freshmen Kevin Lindley and Aidan Olmstead start for the Greyhounds on attack, and each have been among the best freshmen in the Patriot League this season. Lindley set a Patriot League and Loyola freshman scoring record March 4 at Holy Cross by tallying eight goals in a -5 win over the Crusaders. His eight goals are one off the school record of nine set in 1986 by John Carroll against Washington & Lee University. It also matches the No. 2 mark in Patriot League history, held by six other players. The eight goals were the most by a Loyola player since Gavin Prout scored eight against Hobart College in Earlier in the week, the freshman from Darien, Connecticut, set a career-high with three goals in the Greyhounds win over Towson. In the two games, he finished with 11 goals and an assist, earning Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors and a spot on the USILA National Team of the Week. Lindley is currently third on the team with 23 goals. Olmstead has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week twice this season and is third on the team with 33 points (17 goals, 16 assists). He picked up his first recognition after a four-goal game at Navy, a contest he followed with a six-point outing (two goals, four assists) versus Bucknell. Olmstead then matched his career highs in points and goals with four goals and two assists versus Boston University. Century Mark Charley Toomey won the 100th game of his head coaching career Feb. 27, 2016, against Lafayette College, becoming just the second coach in Loyola men s lacrosse history to do so. Toomey is in his th year at Loyola and is 0-63 since 2006 at the helm of the Greyhounds program. 6 Head Coach Charley Toomey 12th Season Loyola 90 Charley Toomey, who is in his th season as a collegiate head coach, has put his stamp on the Loyola men s lacrosse program as a disciplined, tough, athletic and skillful unit. The Greyhounds ascended to the top of college lacrosse in 2012, winning Loyola s first-ever NCAA Division I Championship. Toomey entered the 2018 season with a career record in his first 12 years at Loyola. Early in the 2016 season, Toomey became the second coach in program history to reach and cross the 100- win plateau. He stands second on the program s all-time wins chart behind his college coach, Dave Cottle (181-70, ). Loyola completed one of the finest years in school history in 2016, bouncing back from a 4-3 start to the regular-season to win 10-straight games. During that stretch, Loyola won the Patriot League Championship, coasting to a 14-6 victory over the U.S. Military Academy in the title game. The Greyhounds then won two NCAA Tournament games in rematches of games they lost to teams during the regular-season. Loyola logged win over Duke University when it hosted the Blue Devils in the NCAA First Round, and it then traveled to Columbus, Ohio, for the NCAA Quarterfinals. There, the Greyhounds downed Towson University, 10-8, to advance to Championship Weekend. Loyola finished the season with a 14-4 record, the third-most wins in program history, and it was ranked No. 4 nationally in the final media poll of the season by Inside Lacrosse. His 20 and 2014 squad garnered return trips to the NCAA First Round, and over the last two years, Toomey and his staff have coached 19 players who earned All-America honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The 2012 Loyola squad set several program records and tied the NCAA Division I record for wins in a season with 18. The Greyhounds lost just a single game during the year, winning the ECAC regular-season and tournament championships en route to the national title. Toomey has coached 25 players from who earned USI- LA All-America honors, including Joe Fletcher who was named the 2014 National Defensive Player of the Year. Toomey was also a member of the NCAA Division I Men s Lacrosse Committee, a group responsible for selection of the NCAA Championships field and administration of the tournament. Toomey s dedication to the program stems from his long ties to the Loyola community, dating back to the day he stepped onto campus as a freshman student-athlete in He has been involved in 14 of the 20 NCAA D-I Tournament appearances in program history - three as a player, five as an assistant coach and four as a head coach. As a student-athlete at Loyola from , Toomey was a twotime All-America selection at goalie, garnering honorable mention honors in 1989 and third-team accolades in He owns two of Loyola s top six single-game save performances in the cage, and ranks amongst the Greyhounds all-time save leaders.
