2 STARTING PITCHER LHP - Clayton Richard #33 (2-7, 4.58) FOR STARTERS: The 28-year-old is set to make his 13th start of the season tonight against the Mariners at Safeco Field will be his 115th Big League outing and 98th career start. Will be making his 12th career interleague start, his fi rst this year. Has gone 1-2 with a 3.58 ERA (13 ER/32.2 IP) over his last fi ve starts. Posted six quality starts this season, including four of his last seven starts six quality starts second-most on the team behind seven by Edinson Volquez. LAST TIME OUT: Tagged with his seventh loss of the season on 6/6 vs. SF after working 5.2 innings and allowing six runs, four earned, on a season-high tying 10 hits, one home run and no walks while striking out one Padres fell short by a score of 6-5 against the Giants. VS. THE MARINERS: Making his fi fth career start against the Mariners tonight, his fi rst this year will be his second career start at Safeco Field. Last faced the Mariners last season on 5/21/11 at Petco Park tagged with the loss, his only loss against the Mariners, after working 5.0 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out two.
