The Padres return home after going 3-7 on their roadtrip to St. Louis (1-3), Los Angeles (1-2) and Arizona (1-2). Following the 10-game homestand, the Padres will once again embark upon a 10-game, 11-day roadtrip as they will do a tour of most the National League West as they will make the trek to Colorado (September 5-7), Los Angeles (September 8-10) and Arizona (September 12-14).. TREVOR HOFFMAN INDUCTION: This coming Saturday, August 30, Trevor Hoffman will be inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame prior to the club s 5:40 p.m. game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park. Hoffman will be the ninth person to be inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame, joining Buzzie Bavasi, Nate Colbert, Jerry Coleman, Tony Gwynn, Randy Jones, Ray Kroc, Dick Williams and Dave Winfi eld. Hoffman, who now serves as the Padres upper-level pitching coordinator, retired as Major League Baseball s all-time saves leader with 601 in 677 opportunities, a record, 2.87 ERA (347 ER/ IP),.211 opponent batting average and 1,133 strikeouts in 1,035 relief appearances the seven-time All-Star (1998, 99, 2000, 02, 06, 07, 09) also fi nished in the Top 10 in Cy Young voting (1996, 98, 99, 2006) and in the Top 25 in Most Valuable Player voting (1996, 98, 2005, 06) on four occasions each. BUDDY GETS WIN #600: With the win yesterday at Arizona, Buddy Black secured his 600th career win as a manager, all as the skipper of the Padres...Black ranks second on the Padres all-time managerial wins list, trailing only Bruce Bochy, who won 951 games as manager of the Friars from He is the 112th manager in Major League history to reach the 600-win plateau and the 14th active manager to do so, joining SF Bruce Bochy, LAA Mike Scioscia, BAL Buck Showalter, CLE Terry Francona, MIN Ron Gardenhire, PIT Clint Hurdle, KC Ned Yost, OAK Bob Melvin, TB Joe Maddon, NYM Terry Collins, NYY Joe Girardi, TEX Ron Washington and ATL Fredi Gonzalez.Black is the 56th different manager all-time to get 600+ wins with a single team.
