The Friars are coming off a three-game series in Los Angeles where the lost two of three games to the Dodgers. The Padres opened up the current roadtrip with a three-game series in Denver (Sep 5-7) where they were on the wrong side of a series sweep as they were shutout twice in three days in the Mile High City. Before embarking on the current roadtrip, the Friars had an 11-day, 10-game homestand, going 6-4 on the stand and taking two of three games from both the Milwaukee Brewers (Aug 25-27) and Dodgers (August 29-31) while splitting a four game series against the Diamondbacks (Sep 1-4).
