Sea Sea Sea 7/7 KC 7/8 KC 7/9 KC 7/10 KC HARDLY THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH--The Royals hit Seattle after a winless stop at the doorstep to Disneyland, dropping the finale of the three-game set by a 4-2 count to the Angels on Wednesday night...it marked the first time Kansas City has lost three in a row since September 4-7, 2015, when the club dropped four straight, including a three-game sweep at home by the White Sox...as for Wednesday, KC jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Eric Hosmer s first inning home run, but it was the long ball that did in the Royals as the evening progressed, with the Halos clubbing three roundtrippers to account for all four runs...chris Young, who fell to 1-4, allowed a game-tying homer to Mike Trout in the fourth and then Yunel Escobar gave the Angels the lead when he opened the sixth with a blast...andrelton Simmons hit his first A.L. home run in the seventh for an insurance tally...hosmer led the attack with three hits, extending his hitting streak to a career-best 17 games. IT S NOT HOW MANY, BUT WHEN THEY COME--Kansas City outhit the Angels by a 10-5 count in Wednesday s loss, but the Royals scuffled to an 0-for-7 evening with runners in scoring position, placing runners on base in eight of the nine innings...meanwhile, the Angels didn t even get a runner in scoring position on Wednesday night, but hit a trio of home runs that accounted for their scoring...kc went just 4-for-23 (.174) is RISP situations in Anaheim and.214 with runners in scoring position on the year (36-for-168), a category the Royals finished second in the Majors in last year with a.281 mark.
