Future meetings: My wrklad changed just prir t the hlidays and as a cnsequence, I am nt available Mnday, Wednesday, r Thursday evenings. Given that, des Tuesday wrk fr everyne? Bard agrees t mve meetings t Tuesday night fr the next few mnths. 3. Cmmunicatin with members and public frum exchanges: If any f my Bard members receive s, messages, r verbal cmmunicatin that are ignrant, rude, cndescending, belligerent, r any ther synnym yu wish t use, please let me knw. Frward the details t me and I will prvide them with a plite infrming them that this will nt be tlerated. If yu wish t take it upn yurself t d that where yu feel the message is inapprpriate please d but be sure t cc me n the . Als, please remind yur member grups that any cmmunicatin needs t be channeled thrugh yu (frm yur team managers) and that individual s t Bard members may nt be replied t. Yu may als want t determine expectatins re: respnse time. What are the parameters f respnding t s? Establish a limit. Of my 6 years n this Bard, this year has prven t be the wrst fr unacceptable cmmunicatin exchanges (individual and public frums) and I am asking that the members take the time t respectfully request r share infrmatin within the apprpriate channels. Parents have cmpleted the RIS this year and it needs t be cmplied with. 4. SLS: A number f incidents and unfrtunate set f circumstances have ccurred within the SLS hckey prgram. If yur members are cncerned r are interested in hw this will affect KPMHA as a whle, please have them cnnect with me. 5. Infractins f Scial Media plicy: Sectin 10 f VIAHA Plicy Manual. Please refer yur members t this plicy. 6. Attended the VIAHA meeting n Sunday, January 10th. There were many items n the agenda and discussin regarding the fllwing will be f interest t ur members: Crdinatrs, please ensure that female dressing rms are being designated as such and are nt being used by ther grups/individuals. There have been reprts frm ther arenas (nt KP) that the designated Female dressing rms are being used by Officials and the ladies are left t use the public washrms t change. This is unacceptable. I am certain that this is nt ccurring at KP r SLS (at least I haven t received any parent cmplaints) but be sure t check with yur female player families t ensure we are prviding what they need. A new Scieties Act will be cming int frce in Nvember f 2016 and will becme effective in I suggest establishing a Gvernance Cmmittee at the AGM which will be rganized fr the sle purpse f updating and mdifying ur Cnstitutin and By- Laws. There will be sme significant changes with respect t cmpliance with the new Act and ur Cnstitutin and Bylaws must cnfrm within the parameters established. It will be a significant undertaking and best t plan earlier rather than later. Crdinatrs and Head Cach, please ensure that team fficials are fllwing the 2 deep rule re: dressing rm plicy. This is a HC plicy and needs t be enfrced. It was established t prtect children. VIAHA is adamant abut enfrcement and will nt

3 supprt team fficials wh make a decisin t ignre the plicy. Pssible suspensins may ensue shuld a cmplaint arise fr nn-cmpliance. Affiliate vs. relief players - Use APs first fr PW and up. Atm can use relief players (lateral mvement). All requests fr relief players must be presented t Jim Humphreys (President f VIAHA) via the President. Time ut plicies nly apply fr games with 3-20 minute perids and a 2.5 hur game slt. N ther exceptin. Reminder t team fficials that any player ejected ut f a game MUST BE ESCORTED ff the ice by the n ice fficials and ESCORTED t the change rm by tw (2) team fficials. This is a safety precautin fr the player where supervisin can be exercised shuld retaliatry actins ensue and t ensure the health and well- being f the player. Same enfrcement as the dressing rm plicy. Island League playffs will begin the weekend f January 23rd. Atm Develpment playffs set t begin the weekend f February 27th. KPMHA hsted tw very successful recreatinal turnaments (Midget and Peewee) ver the Christmas break. I attended bth turnaments and wuld like t cngratulate the Cllins family, the Midget C team, Dale Parker and the Peewee C1 team n their utstanding effrts. Rep fees - With delays ccurring in the cllectin f these fees again this year, maybe the team managers shuld nt be respnsible fr the arrangement f assciatin dues. I wuld like t suggest that pst-dated cheques be cllected at tryuts and returned t thse families when placed n recreatinal teams. 2 nd Vice/Ice AR Mving in camera - 7:43pm Mving ut f camera 7:50pm Treasurer- AR Financials will be ed. Referee in Chief LG Peewee turnament fficials were all assessed by a BC Hckey fficial. Fr the playffs, seasned referees will wrk with a junir referee. Overall cach cnduct has imprved. Midget turnament went well. Caches need t wrry abut their wn teams nly and nt the ther team. A reminder that what players/caches/parents d when wearing the jersey reflects nt nly n the team but als n the assciatin. 5 All is well in Timbit land. Jambree a mnth away and everything is falling int place nicely. Can't wait t see their cute little smiling faces n the ice. Hckey therapy fr the sul. Wuld like t add a detailed turnament 'planning guide' sectin t the managers manual and put up n the KP website. Will wrk n it ver the spring/summer. Nvice Isabel Grndin Nvice is busy but verall ging well. Sme parent cmplaints that have been managed within the team setting. We cntinue t run ur Nvice all every secnd week which has been very successful. We are awaiting ur first ice invice fr each team fr the mnth f December ice. All Managers have been cncerned regarding the late release f the ice schedule. As the crdinatr I m wndering if there is anything that we can d t facilitate this prcess. Atm Neil Rbinsn I have requested that the managers cllect feedback frm their respective parent grups regarding their bservatins f the year s far. This includes areas fr praise and celebratin, things are wrking well and, if any, things that culd be adjusted. There have been submissins f tremendus success and praise fr all ur caches and managers and, it seems, a cuple areas fr further discussin and grwth. We are wrking thrugh these n a team-by-team basis. Ice time distributin and cmmunicatin - I have attached the ttals fr atm ice time this year. January, in particular, has a substantial discrepancy where the Develpment team is nt getting the practice ice required and has paid fr.
