GENERAL INFORMATION DISTRICT INFORMATION The Tennessee Senir Olympics hsts ten district events acrss the state f Tennessee. It is necessary t participate in a district event t advance t the state finals. This des nt apply t pen sprts ffered at the state finals. Athletes are encuraged t participate in their hme district (determined by cunty f residence). If unable t d s, ne may chse frm any district. Teams and individuals may participate in as many districts as desired. Registratin and payment are required fr each district. Out-f-district cmpsitin fr team sprts remains the same. Fr further infrmatin abut all district dates and deadlines please visit r call (615) AGE CATEGORIES The Tennessee Senir Olympics age categries are as fllws: Participants will qualify fr age divisins accrding t their age as f December 31, (See (see page 7 fr explanatin explantin f f new qualifying system) system.) In dubles events and in team cmpetitin, teams will cmpete in the divisin determined by the age f the yungest team member. REGISTRATION Participants may enter an unlimited number f events. Hwever, ne may nt register fr events that will verlap in time. Upn receipt f registratin, athletes will receive a cnfirmatin letter and newsletter via with event details. AWARDS Medals will be presented fr first, secnd, and third place finalists in each age/sex categry. The awards will be presented at the cnclusin f each event. All participants are eligible t advance t State Finals. INCLEMENT WEATHER The Tennessee Senir Olympics reserves the right t cancel r pstpne events in case f inclement weather r extenuating circumstances. Any schedule changes will be placed n the district answering machine. In the event f bad weather, it is yur repnsibility t call and check fr changes. Please call (423) t check fr infrmatin and updates t the schedule. RULES AND EQUIPMENT All events will be cnducted in accrdance with the 2014 Tennessee Senir Olympics Official Rules Manual. A cpy f the manual is prvided t each District Crdinatr. The cmplete rules manual is als available n ur website, A cpy f the rules fr each event will be available at each event site. Equipment fr each event will be prvided by the Tennessee Senir Olympics unless stated in the rules f each event. Participants are advised t cnsult the Official Rules Manual cncerning equipment fr their specific event(s). If an athlete is nt present at game time (even exhibitin), he r she will be scratched even if participating at anther Senir Olympics event. Game Time is Frfeit Time. The beautiful thing abut the Senir Olympics is that it ffers a healthy cmpetitin fr individuals f all skill levels. A beginner will have the chance t reawaken r try new skills and set a baseline in terms f fitness. A seasned athlete can sharpen skills and strive t best prir persnal perfrmances.
