2 Lenape high schl players, caches and athletic directr The Beginning: Lenape Valley Lacrsse prgram was started fur years ag by Kevin Shannn and Sctt Kenig wh bth were a vital part f building lacrsse prgrams in surrunding twns and persnally funded the start f ur prgram. Currently Kevin and Sctt vlunteer their time assisting head cach Kevin Earl with high schl teams and cach the 7 th & 8 th grade yuth team. 4 Financial Infrmatin Lenape Valley high schl Lacrsse prgram expense are ver $20,000 t field bys and girls varsity and JV teams. Withut the yuth prgram and parents helping t fundraise, high schl lacrsse wuld nt be pssible due t budget cnstraints in ur schl system. In an effrt t have a better understanding f the need t charge a dues fr the bys and girls playing lacrsse at Lenape Valley, we find it in everyne s best interest t share the realities f the financial bligatin that needs t be met by the Lenape Valley Lacrsse Club every year. The Lenape Valley Lacrsse Club supprts the yuth bys and girls frm Byram, Stanhpe and Netcng frm 2 rd grade thrugh 8 th grade. The Club insures that each player is prperly equipped (rughly $225 per player), makes sure that there are knwledgeable and Rutgers certified caches n the field with the athletes (all vlunteers), prvide unifrms as well as make sure all field maintenance, paint, and all state sanctined fficiating fees are paid. This all cmes at a premium t the club, with ur biggest expense f $110 per game fr fficials. It is because f cuntless vlunteers and supprters that this all becmes lgistically pssible. At the High Schl level, the Club supprts the schl teams as pay t play prgrams. The High Schl prvides 2 caches salaries, that is the ttal investment by the schl. It shuld be mentined that 2 ther caches generusly vlunteer their time. The csts assciated with the High Schl prgram are high, and the Club enters int a legally binding cntractual agreement with the schl every year assuring all budgeted items are prvided. The fllwing is a breakdwn f thse assciated fees: Officials (based n 16 Varsity games bys\girls & 16 JV games bys\girls) = $5, The State mandates bth scheduling f games as well as fficial s fees. We are nt in a psitin t schedule ur wn fficials r negtiate rates. Transprtatin = $4, Field Maintenance (8 Pails f $26) = $208 Insurance Csts (4% f ttal cst $17,971) = $758 Miscellaneus Fees = $ Ttal = $11, It shuld be knwn as well that all unifrms, equipment, balls, gals, nets, muthpieces, recnditining f helmets, under this cntract will be prvided by the Lenape Valley Lacrsse Club. This cst in itself exceeds $10,

5 In clsing, we hpe this clearly illustrates the need fr fundraising fr all ur teams, as well as the need t apply a cst t ur High Schl athletes t be able t field teams every spring seasn. The effrts f the caches, vlunteers and supprters f each prgram reaching frm the yuth thrugh ur high schl levels affect the playing experiences as well as the safety f ver 150 children.
