2 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Dear Prspective Spnsr and Partner, Our Club relies n the supprt f cmmunity-minded rganisatins such as yurs s that we can cntinue t prvide vlunteer lifesaving services t lcals and turists visiting Kings Beach. By way f cntext, during the lifesaving seasn we saw abut 120,000 peple visit Kings Beach and ur vlunteer lifesavers perfrmed abut 7,300 preventative actins. The cst f purchasing new and maintaining existing lifesaving equipment is met by a number f means including Gvernment grants, and spnsrship and dnatins. Hwever, we in fact rely very heavily n the fundraising activities f ur vlunteer members in the absence f grants, spnsrships and dnatins as has been the case ver the past number f seasns. An example f the challenge we face is ur need t purchase a new All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) this seasn. The ATV is a vital piece f equipment in maintaining a safe envirnment fr the beach-ging public. A new ATV has a cst f apprximately $25,000. In clsing, I urge yu t becme a spnsr f ur Club and t cnsider the ptins available within the Prspectus. 3 WHO ARE WE? Metrplitan Calundra Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) is lcated at beautiful Kings Beach, Calundra n Queensland's Sunshine Cast. Kings Beach is a ppular beach fr families, and services a grwing catchment that includes the suthern end f the Sunshine Cast, the Calundra Suth develpment area, and the nrthern suburbs f Brisbane. The Club, established in 1933, is a nn-prfit charitable rganisatin dedicated t prviding free surf lifesaving services t Kings Beach. Metrplitan Calundra SLSC is cmmitted t Surf Life Saving Queensland s visin f zer preventable deaths in Queensland public waters. The Club has a current membership in excess f 600 members, starting as yung as five years f age, and cnsisting f mre than 100 active surf lifesavers, 260 nippers, and 250 assciate members. Metrplitan Calundra SLSC als has a strng surf athlete prgram where ur members cmpete at Branch (Sunshine Cast), State, Natinal, and Internatinal levels. Our Supprters Club has mre than 5,000 members primarily in the 36 t 75 age range. The cntributin t the Calundra Cmmunity frm spnsrship f ur Club enhances the safety f Kings Beach by prviding the necessary training t develp the skills required t becme a cmpetent lifesaver. This als prvides greater pprtunities and pathways fr the develpment f yung members f the cmmunity and prmtes the image f Kings Beach as a safe envirnment. The nippers gear trailer is anther pprtunity fr prmtin f yur business. During the life saving seasn, the nipper trailer is n the rad between the Gld Cast and the Sunshine Cast fr surf sprts events and training.
