2 2 THEME: STOMP 15 TV Shws ELIGIBILITY RULES, REGULATIONS & GUIDELINES Dancers must be between 6 t 24 years ld Teams f all levels and sizes are welcme All teams, including shwcase teams, must attend an assessment Teams are invited t creatively incrprate themes thrugh cstume, music and dance If yur team is affiliated with a cmmunity rganizatin (Parks, Frestry & Recreatin, Bys & Girls Club, schl bard etc.) this rganizatin must be identified n the registratin frm. A full-time emplyee r an emplyee with decisin making authrity in yur rganizatin must sign ff n each team entered If yu are nt affiliated with a cmmunity rganizatin, an individual ver 18 years f age must sign ff n yur team registratin. If yu d nt have an adult t d this please cntact Marg Williamsn at mwillia1@trnt.ca fr additinal details. HOW TO ENTER Fill ut attached registratin frm fr each team and attach cheque (r cst centre/gl fr City f Trnt teams). Registratin frm will nt be valid if payment is nt received. Registratin frm must be submitted n later than Friday February 19 th, Registratin after this date will nt be accepted; NO EXCEPTIONS! Payment MUST be received by assessment dates, Friday March 18 th, 2016 r Saturday March 19 th, 2016 Teams must cmplete a multimedia cnsent frm fr each participant. 3 3 DIVISION FORMATS & FEES The STOMP Urban Dance Cmpetitin/Shwcase cmmittee will place teams accrdingly based n assessments. Once each categry is filled, remaining teams will be placed n an as required basis and will be filled first cme first served, decided by the registratin date. There are a ttal f 36 cmpeting spts and 4 shwcase spts pen in STOMP Cmpetitive divisins are subject t change based n the discretin f the cmmittee. Teams wh place first in their divisin will autmatically advance t the next divisin (i.e. the first place team in the nvice divisin will cmpete in the beginner divisin the fllwing year). The team that places first in the advanced divisin will n lnger be eligible t cmpete in any divisin; hwever, the team will autmatically be placed in the shwcase divisin the fllwing year. DIVISIONS COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS NON-COMPETITIVE DIVISION Nvice Beginner Intermediate Advanced Shwcase ASSESSMENT Teams will be required t participate in an assessment; nce assessments are cmplete the cmmittee will make a decisin as t which divisin teams will be placed in the cmpetitin; this is t enhance the quality f the shw and maintain shw integrity. Entry fees are nn-refundable. If a grup decides nt t cmpete under their wn will, a refund will nt be issued, n exceptins. Fees can be paid by cst centre and GL accunt fr City f Trnt teams; ther cmmunity rganizatins can pay by cheque payable t "City f Trnt". Please nte bth the registratin frm and entry fee must be received t cnsider registratin cmplete. ENTRY FEE: $50.00 REQUIREMENTS All teams must participate in an assessment t cmpete in the shw. Attendance is MANDATORY. Teams are required t perfrm a 2 minute rutine in rder t be judged accrdingly Failure t attend the assessment may result in immediate remval frm the shw The cmmittee will scre teams based n perfrmance Teams are encuraged t dance t their best ability t maximize their ptential in rder t ensure a spt in the shw.

4 4 The cmmittee will be selecting teams based n their scre; the tp 36 scres will be selected. The cmmittee hlds the right t judge, make assessments and place teams accrdingly in the divisin as seen fit There are 2 assessment dates. If there is a day and time slt yu wuld prefer, please submit yur request t STOMP@trnt.ca and yur request will be taken int cnsideratin. If yu d nt submit a request, yur assessment time will be assigned. Assessment dates: Friday March 18 th, 2016 Edithvale Cmmunity Centre 131 Finch Ave W M2R 1N pm Saturday March 19 th, 2016 Dn Mntgmery Cmmunity Centre 2467 Eglintn Ave E M1K 2R1 10 am 6 pm SHOWCASE Auditin Date: Same as assessment dates N entry fee; this level is nt a cmpeting divisin Shwcase Criteria Teams r perfrmers must auditin fr the STOMP cmmittee and be apprved t be eligible t perfrm Rutines/perfrmances may be a maximum f 4 minutes TECHNICAL INFORMATION MUSIC Music can be submitted fr apprval via in an MP3 frmat t Alicia Daley at adaley3@trnt.ca. All music MUST be submitted by Friday April 1 st, The cmmittee will review the music fr the purpses f length, apprpriateness and cmpatibility. Music must be apprpriate. This includes n cursing, dergatry remarks abut men, wmen, ethnic grups, sexual preference etc. These rules are applicable in all languages. N sund effects f gun shts. Once yur mix is apprved, 2 separate labeled CDs must be submitted at rehearsal day n Saturday May 14 th, 2016 with: Team name (written n the CD) Labelled CD#1 and CD#2 Please als ensure nly the perfrmance music is n the CDs. DEDUCTION POINTS: 1 pt/infractin If music is inapprpriate when submitted at rehearsal day, a 1 pint deductin will be applied t final scre at cmpetitin. Music must be crrected and submitted befre event day. Failure t d s and perfrmance with inapprpriate music will result in autmatic disqualificatin.

5 COSTUMES Please ensure cstumes are age apprpriate. A cstume can include anything frm grup t-shirts, t everyne wearing the same clur, t custm made cstumes. Cstumes must cver private areas at all times. Fr example: shrts must cver the entire buttcks thrughut the entire perfrmance. Bandanas are nt allwed. Scarves are acceptable. Hairstyles and hats can play a rle in the cstumes. BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN! PROPS Items such as baby pwder, glitter, cnfetti, sparkles, streamers, water, il, etc. are nt allwed Thrwing f any items such as lllipps, fake mney, fake jewellery, bling is nt permitted All prps must be disclsed at rehearsal day n Saturday May 14 th, 2016 at Driftwd Cmmunity Centre LIGHTING All teams are prvided with standard lighting, allwance fr special lighting is limited t fades r cuts, in and ut. Lighting mishaps will nt affect yur verall scre, if the mishap r the miscue is caused by the technician. If a lighting request is nt submitted at rehearsal day tw weeks prir t the shw, it will nt be eligible r accepted fr yur perfrmance. Please send all lighting requests t the Prductin Manager, Alicia Daley at adaley@trnt.ca Black lights are permitted and must be indicated n yur lighting requirement dcument. Teams must prvide their wn equipment. NO STROBE LIGHTS ALLOWED FOR HEALTH & SAFETY REASONS. NOTE: Any use f such items r lack f disclsure will be cause fr IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION at the sle discretin f the cmmittee. 5 JUDGING CRITERIA Judging will be based n the fllwing criteria: Apprpriateness Chregraphy Music Cstume (based n age and categry) Creativity/Originality Creativity Originality (nt a vide cpy)

Teams will als be remved frm the STOMP DVD AWARDS Gld, silver and brnze medals will be issued t the tp 3 teams frm each cmpeting categry The gld medal winner f the advanced categry will receive a trphy t keep fr the year. Their team name will be added t a plaque n the trphy. All gld medal teams in each divisin will als receive a banner. The gld medal winner f the advanced categry and pssibly the shwcase perfrmances may be featured n the fllwing year s flyer All participants will receive a participatin medal Fan favurite award will be determined by audience applause and scial media respnse

7 REHEARSAL DAY & TEAM PHOTOS As previusly indicated music must be submitted by Friday April 1 st, 2016 via in an MP3 frmat t Alicia Daley at adaley3@trnt.ca fr the cmmittee s review. Edit requirements will be issued within 1 week f submissin date. Rehearsal day will cnsist f final music; teams may be remved frm the cmpetitin if all requirements are nt met. REHEARSAL DAY will be held n Saturday May 14 th, 2016 between 9:00 am- 6:00 pm at the Driftwd Cmmunity Centre, 4401 Jane St. 7 All grups will receive a schedule with a time slt befre rehearsal day All categries including shwcase MUST shw up fr their rehearsal day appintment All grups will be videtaped at rehearsal day fr administrative purpses nly Each team shuld sign in 20 minutes prir t their scheduled appintment Each grup will perfrm their rutine fr the cmmittee with music, cstumes and prps Team phtgraphs will be taken at rehearsal day s it is imprtant that all team members are present and in cstume Vide ftage may be captured fr DVD purpses, i.e. interviews, practices etc. Each team MUST bring t rehearsal day: tw cpies f music n CD (ne fr the team, and ne fr the cmmittee). The CDs prvided t the cmmittee must cntain nly the music fr the cmpetitin, n ther music shuld be n the CD; it must be cut t the amunt f time allwed fr their categry; it must have the name f the team and cntact/cmmunity centre/rganizatin written clearly n the CD and case. Cmpleted multimedia cnsent frms fr each participant must be submitted n this day The cmmittee will prvide feedback with needed changes at the end f rehearsal day, i.e. if there was a curse wrd in the music r if cstumes were t revealing. The grup will get a cpy f any changes t be made. If yu d nt make these changes by the day f the cmpetitin, deductins will be made accrdingly. TICKETS Cst f tickets: $5.00 each Perfrmers can purchase a maximum f 2 tickets each at rehearsal day. Any additinal tickets must be purchased thrugh the general ticket sales prcess. 8 COACHES' DUTIES Caches are in charge f their team at all times befre, during and after the shw. Caches must set an example as t prper behavir and etiquette at the shw. Gd sprtsmanlike behavir shuld be exercised at all times. Cmmunity rganizatins are in charge f handing ut the apprpriate frms t parents regarding the excursin as well as ticket infrmatin. Caches will nt be allwed t apprach the judges fr any reasn at any time. Caches must ensure that all perfrmers bring lunch n the day f the shw because as f 11:30 am n ne will be allwed in r ut f the venue. If teams r their members are caught utside the designated hlding areas, this will be grunds fr disqualificatin frm the cmpetitin. 8 STOMP 2016 VIDEO Each team will receive ne cpy f the shw; additinal cpies must be purchased separately. Vide cameras and cameras will be allwed in the auditrium. Flash phtgraphy will nt be permitted. Each cmmunity rganizatin is respnsible fr cllecting and keeping multimedia cnsent frms fr their team. Perfrmers will nt be allwed t enter withut a cmpleted multimedia cnsent frm.
