Individual Events Kumite MEN Under 60kg 60-67kg 67-75kg 75-84kg Over 84kg Kumite WOMEN Under 50kg 50-55kg 55-61kg 61-68kg Over 68kg 1.2 Individual Kata Kata Individual Men Kata Individual WOMEN 1.3. Open Men and Wmen Tw (2) karatekas men and tw (2) karatekas wmen by each cuntry. 2. PARTICIPANTS 2.1. Age Eligibility Fr cmpetitin categry men / wmen: All karate Kumite cmpetitrs must be at least 18+ years ld in 2015 (brn in 2000 r befre) Fr individual kata. Kata Cmpetitrs must be at least 16 years ld in 2015 (brn in 1999 r befre). All Karate Kata Cmpetitrs aged 16, 17 in 2015 must prvide a medical certificate and the Natinal Assciatin shuld btain parental authrizatin Fr pen men / wmen: Participants are t be 18 years f age and ver (brn 1997 r befre) Number f Participants Fr cmpetitin categry Men / Wmen: Each Natinal Federatin r Assciatin may enter tw (2) cmpetitrs per weight class, in each gender, fr a maximum f twenty (20) Senirs participants fr cmpetitin categry Men and Wmen Fr individual kata: The maximum number f athletes fr the individual kata is tw (2) men and tw (2) wman Fr pen men / wmen: Each Natinal Assciatin may enter tw (2) cmpetitrs in each gender fr a maximum f fur (4) participants fr cmpetitin men and wmen Fr cmpetitin categry men / wmen and pen men and wmen: Cntestants shall be the hlder f green belt r higher. 1

2 2.4. A fine f EURO 20 is levied n each nn-starting athlete with the exceptin f thse presenting a dctr's declaratin that he/she shuld nt be allwed t start. 3. REGISTRATION 3.1. Preliminary Registratin The preliminary registratins with an indicatin f the prbable number f athletes in each event must be submitted t the Secretariat n later than [Nt less than ne (1) year befre the cmpetitin.] 3.2. COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS 4.1. Technical Organisatin EDSO is respnsible fr the technical rganizatin f the Karate cmpetitins Cmmittees Technical cmmittee: The technical cmmittee will be cmpsed f the EDSO Technical Directr and members appinted by the Organizing Cmmittee: Francesc Farane Isif Stavrakakis Gevrgizyan Asht Grigr Grigryan EDSO Karate Technical Directr EDSO Representative Sprts Liaisn Officer Deaf Representative Prtest Cmmittee: The Champinship Prtest Cmmittee shall cnsist f: Isif Stavrakakis Francesc Farane Gevrgizyan Asht EDSO Representative (Chair - N VOTING RIGHT) EDSO Karate Technical Directr 4.3. Cmpetitin Rules Technical Organisatin EDSO is respnsible fr the technical rganizatin f the Karate cmpetitins Cmpetitin Rules The Karate cmpetitins will be cnducted in accrdance with the Rules and Regulatins f the EKF/WKF (versin 2015). In case f disagreement in the interpretatin f the Rules and Regulatins, the English text shall prevail. Unfreseen incidents nt cvered by the Rules and Regulatins shall be dealt with as fllws: 2

Cmpetitin Unifrm Cases f a general nature will be reslved in accrdance with EDSO Regulatins, EDSO General Technical Rules and this Karate Technical Regulatins Technical questins related t cmpetitin rules shall be reslved accrding t the EKF/WKF Rules and Regulatins. Only athletes wh cmply with the EDSO Regulatins are entitled t take part in the EDSO Karate cmpetitins. The karate-gi unifrm must be white and clean withut stripes r piping. The jacket, when tightened arund the waist with the belt, must be f a minimum length that cvers the hips, but must nt be mre than three-quarters thigh length. Female cmpetitrs may wear a plain white T-shirt beneath the Karate jacket. Cntestants must bring tw clr belts (red and blue). The maximum length f the jacket sleeves must be n lnger then the bend f the wrist and n shrter than halfway dwn the frearm. Jacket sleeves may nt be rlled up. The trusers must be lng enugh t cver at least tw thirds f the shin and must nt reach belw the anklebne. Truser legs may nt be rlled up. Cntestants must keep their hair clean and cut t a length that des nt bstruct smth but cnduct. HACHIMAKI (headband) will nt be allwed. Shuld the Referee cnsider any cntestant's hair t lng and/r unclean, he may disbar the cntestant frm the but. Hair slides are prhibited, as are metal hairgrips. Ribbns, beads and ther decratins are prhibited. A discreet rubber band r pny tail retainer is permitted. Cntestants must have shrt fingernails and must nt wear metallic r ther bjects, which might injure their ppnents. The use f metallic teeth braces must be apprved by the Referee and the Official Dctr. The cntestant accepts full respnsibility fr any injury. The fllwing prtective equipment is cmpulsry fr the cmpetitrs t wear and they must be apprved by EKF/WKF: Cmpetitin Equipment and prtectrs fr nly W.K.F. apprved lg. mitts (red and blue) muthpiece female chest prtectr Bdy prtectrs fr all female and men (new) grin guard fr male (nt mandatry but if wrn must be apprved WKF type) shin pads (red and blue) ft prtectin (red and blue) All prtectrs fr wmen and men shall be wrn beneath the Karate-gi unifrm. 3

4 4.5. Draw The drawing lts shall be cnducted under cntrl f the Technical Cmmittee within three (3) days prir t the first cmpetitin Cmpetitin Plan Duratin f Cntest 4.7. Officials The duratin f the cntest shall be three (3) minutes fr men and tw (2) minutes fr wmen. During Semifinals and Finals (medal runds), the duratin shall be fur (4) minutes fr men and three (3) minutes fr wmen The timing f the but starts when the Referee gives the signal t start, and stps each time the Referee calls "YAME" The timekeeper shall give visual signals by a clearly audible gng, r buzzer, indicating "ten (10) secnds t g" r "time up". The "time up" signal marks the end f the but Judges, Referee and Recrder Judges and Referees shall be the hlders f Internatinal Referee Certificate registered by the EKF/WKF The cmpetitin fficials will be appinted by the Technical Cmmittee The referee and the judges shall nt be members f the same Natinal Federatins as the cmpetitrs at whse cntest they are fficiating and shuld nt hld any fficial functin, i.e. cach r manager Appintment The Organizing Cmmittee shall appint an apprpriate number f referees, judges, and necessary supprt persnnel (timekeepers, cntest sheet writers, and screbard keepers as well as ther technical assistants). Of thse supprt persnnel must be a minimum f twenty-ne (21) years f age, have a minimum f three (3) years experience as natinal Referee and a gd knwledge f the Refereeing Rules Weigh-in Weigh-in f the cntestants n the day f cmpetitin shall be cmpleted n the previus day f the relevant cmpetitin. During weigh-in, the male cntest shall wear underpants and the female shall wear underpants and brassiere. Hwever, weigh-in may be cnducted in the nude in the case that the cntestant wishes t d s. Weigh-in shall be made nce, hwever ne mre weigh-in is granted within the time limit t the cntestant wh did nt qualify the first time. S as nt t be disqualified during fficial weigh-in, scales, the same as the fficial ne, shall be prvided at the cntestants place f accmmdatin r at the arena fr pre-weigh-in. 5 VENUES 5.1. Cmpetitin Venue The Karate cmpetitins will take place at : Armenian Sprts Cmmittee f the Deaf 69, Eznik Kghbatci Street Yerevan, 0002 ARMENIA 5.2. Training Venue The training venue is the same as the cmpetitin venue. 6. SCHEDULE 6.1. Cmpetitin Schedule Refer t the cmpetitin schedule n the hsting cmpetitins website: 4

Training Schedule Refer t the training schedule n the hsting cmpetitins website Technical Meeting Date and Lcatin The first Technical Meeting will be held at Armenian Sprts Cmmittee f the Deaf n 26 th Octber 2015 at 18:00 t 19:00. The secnd Technical Meeting will be held at Armenian Sprts Cmmittee f the Deaf n 28 th Octber 2015 at 13:00 t 14: Attendance Each participating Natinal Federatin may be represented by tw (2) fficials, f whm at least ne (1) must be deaf and, if necessary, an interpreter. 7. CONTROL AND SANCTIONS 7.1. Hearing Aids The use f any hearing aid/amplificatin r external cchlear implant parts are nt permitted within the restricted zne area. 8. PROTESTS Restricted Zne Area The restricted zne area is in effect frm the time athletes enter n the whle Karate curts hall area during the warm-up and cmpetitin perid Vilatin and Penalty When this rule is vilated, refer t Audigram Regulatins, Article 8: VIOLATIONS and PENALTIES Prcedure fr ldging a prtest All sprt related prtests will be reslved in accrdance t the EKF/WKF Rules and Regulatins and will be managed by the Karate Prtest Cmmittee. Any fficial prtest must be submitted in writing in English n the Official EDSO Prtest Frm. The frm must be given t the EDSO Technical Directr with EURO 50 within thirty (30) minutes after fficial psted results. The EDSO Technical Directr will decide whether the prtest is sprting related r eligibility related. The Karate Prtest Cmmittee will review all sprt related prtests, and the EDSO Executive Cmmittee will review all eligibility prtests. The depsit f EURO 50 will be returned t the appellant nly if the prtest is cnsidered valid Prcedures fr reviewing a prtest The Karate Prtest Cmmittee will meet in the Technical Directr s ffice in Armenian Sprts Cmmittee f the Deaf at a time decided upn by the chairpersn f the cmmittee. The EDSO Representative will be the chairpersn f the cmmittee. The Sprts Liaisn Officer (SLO) will be respnsible t bk the meeting rm and interpreters. The Sprts Liaisn Officer (SLO) will cntact all cmmittee members t infrm them f the meeting time and lcatin. The EDSO Technical Directr will be respnsible fr liaising with the State Sprts Assciatin's Cmpetitin Manager. The Sprts Liaisn Officer (SLO) will be respnsible fr infrming the hsting Deaf Sprt Federatin and the EDSO Technical Directr will be respnsible fr infrming EDSO Executive Cmmittee abut the prtest and als the utcme f the prtest. 5
