Nminee must have retired frm badmintn fr a perid f five years r mre Where administratrs are nminated: exceptinal service t the sprt, respected internatinally in badmintn and respected by wrld sprts bdies such as IOC, IPC, ASOIF, SprtAccrd, WADA Nminatins fr the Hall f Fame Nminatins may be received frm Cuncil and Member Assciatins The recipient f any previus BWF award r hnur shall nt be precluded frm nminatin fr the Hall f Fame. HERBERT SCHEELE TROPHY 2.1 The Herbert Scheele Trphy is t hnur utstandingly exceptinal services t badmintn. 2.2 Key selectin criteria: Exceptinal and lng standing service in the management /administratin f badmintn at an internatinal level 2.3 Nminatins fr the Herbert Scheele Trphy Nminatins are made by Cuncil, nrmally annually 3. LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 3.1 The Lifetime Achievement Awards is t hnur peple wh have made an exceptinal lifetime cntributin t the sprt. 3.2 Key selectin criteria: Exceptinal lifetime cntributin t badmintn Exceptinal achievements fr internatinal badmintn Nminee must have retired r be retiring at the time f the nminatin 3.3 Nminatins fr Lifetime Achievement Nminatins may be made by Cuncil, Cntinental Cnfederatins and Member Assciatins. 4. DISTINGUISHED SERVICE A WARD 4.1. The Distinguished Service Award is t hnur exemplary service at an internatinal level. The Distinguished Service Award is presented n behalf f the members f the Badmintn Wrld Federatin, in recgnitin f lng and distinguished service t internatinal badmintn. 4.2 Key selectin criteria: Distinguished and exemplary service t the sprt at an internatinal level. Service must be mre than the rutine hlding f ffice and / r participatin in cmpetitins and winning f trphies. As amended 5 Nvember 2016

3 Nminees must have served at least 15 years f service and be ver 30 years f age. Other than in exceptinal circumstances, any cmmercial invlvement shuld be cnsidered detrimental t the candidate. Nminees can either be retired r currently serving 4.3. Nminatins fr the Distinguished Service Award Nminatins maybe made by Cuncil and Cntinental Cnfederatins In the case f internatinally recgnized Technical Officials, the Technical Officials Cmmissin may make up t tw nminatins per year Maximum number f Distinguished Service Awards The ttal number f awards granted shall be 85. This number is subject t review every five years*. * The next review will be in MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD 5.1. The Meritrius Service Award is t hnur exemplary service t badmintn at the natinal level. 5.2 Key selectin criteria: Meritrius and exemplary service t the sprt at a natinal badmintn Service must be mre than the rutine hlding f ffice and / r participatin in cmpetitins and winning f trphies. Nminees must have served at least 15 years f service and be ver 30 years f age. Shuld such services have been given befre the Member Assciatin gained BWF membership, nt mre than five years f that service may be credited twards the 15 years required abve. 4 5.3 Nminatins fr Meritrius Service Award Nminatins may be made by Member Assciatins Cuncil may nminate peple wh have in ther ways rendered exceptinal service t badmintn. 5.4 Number f awards available t Member Assciatins The maximum numbers f awards are shwn belw and are subject t review every five years* and may be increased with Cuncil apprval. Number f Awards Membership N f awards up t up t 1,000 3 up t 10, up t 25, up t 40, up t 60, up t 80, abve 80, * The next review will be in CERTIFICATE OF COMMENDATION 6.1. The Certificate f Cmmendatin shall be awarded t recgnize cmmercial rganizatins and ther exceptinal external rganizatins that have rendered significance t the sprt. 6.2 Key Selectin Criteria Significant cntributin by public / private / cmmercial rganizatins which have assisted the BWF, a Cntinental Cnfederatin r a Member Assciatin fr a minimum f 3 years. Badmintn clubs and ther sprting bdies (eg Natinal Olympic Cmmittees) are nt eligible t be nminated fr a Certificate f Cmmendatin. 6.3 Nminatins fr the Certificate f Cmmendatin Nminatins may be made by the Cuncil, Cntinental Cnfederatins and Member Assciatins. MALE / FEMALE / PARA-BADMINTON PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD 7.1 Fur awards are prvided annually the Male Player f the Year and the Female Player f the Year and Male Para-Badmintn Player f the Year and Female Player f the Year. 7.2 The awards are t hnur badmintn and para-badmintn talent and tp wrld perfrmance in the sprt acrss a calendar year. 7.3 Key selectin criteria: Exceptinal and cnsistent perfrmance acrss a calendar year Exceptinal perfrmance Badmintn exceptinal perfrmance at the Olympic Games, BWF events and Super Series events. Para-Badmintn - exceptinal perfrmance at the Paralympic Games, BWF events, Wrld Champinships and Cntinental Champinships. EDDY CHOONG MOST PROMISING PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD 8.1 The Eddy Chng Mst Prmising Player f the Year Award is presented annually and recgnizes ne individual, an emerging tp wrld talent in the sprt. The award reflects prmising and imprving perfrmances acrss a calendar year. 8.2 Key selectin criteria: Cnsistent and imprving perfrmances acrss a calendar year. A gd rle mdel. MOST IMPROVED PLAYER AWARD 9.1 The Mst Imprved Player Award recgnises significant changes in perfrmances f a tp internatinal player wh is nt in cntentin fr either Male / Female Player f the Year Award r Mst Prmising Player f the Year Award. The award recgnises a talented player wh has demnstrated significant and extrardinary imprvement in perfrmances and results within a calendar year. 9.2 Key selectin criteria: Significant and extrardinary imprvement in perfrmances acrss part f a calendar year. WOMEN IN BADMINTON AWARD 10.1 The Wmen in Badmintn Award recgnizes an individual (wman r man) r rganizatin that has made a significant cntributin twards the invlvement f wmen r girls in badmintn Key Selectin Criteria A strng advcate fr wmen r girls in badmintn. PRESIDENT S MEDAL 11.1 The President's Medal is t hnur distinguished individuals r rganisatins wh have made an exceptinal cntributin t badmintn Key selectin criteria: Exceptinal cntributin t badmintn. Exceptinal achievements fr internatinal badmintn Nminatins fr the President s Medal Nminatins are made exclusively by the BWF President. 12. GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS 12.1 Nminatins tgether with the supprting dcumentatin must be ldged with the COO n later than 31 Octber The Awards Cmmissin thrugh the Administratin Cmmittee shall make the recmmendatins t Cuncil Endrsement f a recmmendatin shall require a tw-thirds majrity f Cuncil A recmmendatin, having failed twice t be endrsed by Cuncil, may nt be resubmitted within five years f the last nminatin Members f Cuncil may nt be nminated t any BWF Awards, except the Hall f Fame and the Herbert Scheele Trphy. 13.
