GOING FOR 50: The Padres have an all-time record of against the Seattle Mariners...San Diego has not won a Safeco Field since they swept the Mariners from June 12-14, 2012 in Seattle...since then, the Padres have won just two of eight games in Seattle (2-6)...a win tonight would be the first time the Friars have won three-straight games against SEA since they won four in a row from June 12-22, MITCHELL IN THE MIDDLE: Tonight, RHP Bryan Mitchell looks to record his second win in as many appearances, something he has yet to do in his career...in his last time out on Sept. ARI, he was awarded the win in 5.0 innings of two-hit ball, allowing one run (earned) on two strikeouts and three walks...he's relied on five pitches this season: four-seamer (57.8%), curve (20.9%), cutter (14.9%), changeup (5.8%) and sinker (0.6%). 2 STARTING PITCHER NOTES #50 RHP Bryan Mitchell (1-3, 6.58) BRYAN'S TURN: 27-year-old RHP Bryan Mitchell is set to make his second start since being reinstated from the 10-day DL (right elbow impingement) on 9/1...tonight is his first career start and appearance against Seattle. IN THE WIN COLUMN: Earned his first win as a Padre and his first since 4/2/17 while with NYY his last time out on 9/3 at ARI...tossed 5.0 IP of one-run ball, allowing just two hits in the Padres' 6-2 victory. GOING FOR CONSECUTIVE W'S: With a win today, it would be the first time Mitchell has ever received a victory in back-to-back appearances. WHAT'S HE GOT!?: This season, he's relied on five pitches: four-seamer (57.8%), curve (20.9%), cutter (14.9%), changeup (5.8%) and sinker (0.6%).
