3 1. General Infrmatin The Canadian Track Champinships is a UCI CN class track event. The Canadian Track Champinships will be gverned by Cycling Canada. The event will be held in accrdance with UCI and Cycling Canada regulatins. It is the respnsibility f the rider t knw the rules. UCI pints will be allcated fr the categries and events accrding t the UCI regulatins. The 2018 Canadian Track Champinships will take place n the date and time as scheduled. There will be n extensin f the Champinships past Sunday April 15, 2018 due t unfreseen delays r prlnged stppages. The racing frmat may als be mdified at the discretin f the Chief Cmmissaire and Technical Delegate. Equipment regulatins, as per UCI rules and the Cycling Canada Cmpanin Guide, will be enfrced fr all categries. Apprved helmets will be mandatry fr all training and racing. Delegatins/teams will be assigned in pits based n the number f athletes. Smaller delegatins will have t share pits. 2. Eligibility Eligibility t race: T be able t participate and race, in all categries including UCI categries, yu must be either a Canadian citizen (dual citizenship included), permanent resident, landed immigrants r an individual with refugee status. Prf f citizenship status r residence may be required (passprt, permanent resident card, landed immigrant status r refugee status papers). Eligibility t cmpete fr the Canadian Champin title/pdium/medals/uci pints: Only the participants eligible t race (see abve) wh have Canadian as their UCI natinality 3

4 will have access t the Canadian Champin title, Canadian Champinships pdium, Canadian Track Champinships medal and UCI pints. Shuld a rider eligible t race (see abve) but f a different UCI natinality place amng the tp three verall finishers in the race categry, a pdium presentatin will take place based n the finishing rder f the race and a secnd pdium presentatin based n the Canadian Champinships results f eligible riders with Canadian UCI natinality will take place. All athletes must be in pssessin f a valid UCI internatinal licence. Dmestic licences (frm Canada r ther cuntries) will nt be permitted. N ne-day licences will be sld fr the 2018 Canadian Track Champinships. A licence must be presented t cmpete in the apprpriate discipline. N registratins will be accepted n the day f the event. All cmpetitrs must enter their event class as shwn n their licence. Classes are defined as per UCI rules based n the year f birth. Athletes will nt be cnsidered registered fr an event until the fllwing administrative requirements have been cmpleted: Online registratin has been dne Payment has been made Waiver has been signed (if required) UCI licence has been validated by the designated cmmissaires 4. Upgrades At Canadian Champinships, athletes must race in the age categry accrding t their license. The nly exceptin t this will be fr athletes wh are in the last year f the U15 categry (brn in 2004, racing age 14) and meet all f the fllwing requirements: Upgrades fr team events are allwed as lng as 50% f the team (2 members in the case f a team f 4) are racing in their apprpriate age categry. Fr the U17 Team Pursuit, the Team Pursuit is an event fr teams f 4 riders. Hwever, we will allw teams f 3 fr U17 (a 3 rider Team Pursuit team must have at least ne U17 rider). Athletes wh have psted times, in timed events, that culd ptentially be tp 5 at the 2018 Canadian Track Champinships in the upgraded categry, may be upgraded (Kil/500m, IP). Athletes wishing t race in bunch races in an upgraded categry must receive the endrsement f their cach and Prvincial Sprt Organizatin (PSO). Cycling Canada may ask fr verificatin f the rider s ability t ride in a pack. NEW IN 2018 A request can be made fr a 2 nd year U17 rider t cmpete in the Madisn (pen t Junirs nly) under the fllwing cnditins: The rider must be paired with an eligible Junir rider The request must be endrsed by the prvincial cach Upgrades may be requested by the athlete s cach t the PSO wh will cntact Cycling Canada t prcess the request. The athlete (r cach) has t fill the upgrade request dcument available n Cycling Canada s website and submit t Mathieu Bucher at mathieu.bucher@cyclingcanada.ca. All requests fr upgrades must be received n later than March 28, A letter f acceptance r denial will be frwarded t the PSO, cach and athlete. Shuld an athlete receive an upgrade, they will need t present their letter f upgrade apprval t the cmmissaires at Riders Cnfirmatin/Numbers Pick-up. 4

Gear Restrictin Junirs: unrestricted U17: 7.12m rllut (gearing suggestin: 50*15) If a 2 nd year U15 rider has received an upgrade t race in the U17 categry, the rider will be permitted t use the gearing applicable t U17. The same will apply fr a 2 nd year U17 rider wh has been allwed t race the Madisn in the Junir categry. Disc wheels will nt be allwed fr U17 (maximum rim depth 40mm). Carbn wheels will nt be allwed fr U Specific Event Regulatins Sprint The qualificatin fr the Sprint turnament will be a flying 200m. Prgressin f the Sprint turnament will be based n number f participants registered. Only the 1/2 final and final will be a best f three. Keirin Prgressin f the Keirin turnament will be based n the number r riders registered. Kil/500m TT The event is run as a straight final (ne ride nly). Distances: U17 W, U17 M, Jr W: 500m Jr M: 1km Individual Pursuit (U17/Jr) The tp 4 riders with the fastest times in each categry will race a secnd rund fr psitins 1-4 (medal rund). Distances: U17 W, U17 M: 2km Jr W, Jr M: 3km Scratch, Pints and Eliminatin races Distances (Scratch): U17 W: 5km U17 M, Jr W: 7.5km Jr M: 10km Distances (Pints): U17 W: 10km U17 M, Jr W: 15km Jr M: 20km If there are mre than 24 riders registered in a categry fr ne f these races, there will be a qualificatin rund. It will be the same race, but shrter distance, as seen belw: Distances (Scratch - Qualificatin): U17 W: 3.75km U17 M, Jr W: 5km Jr M: 7.5km Distances (Pints - Qualificatin): U17 W: 7.5km U17 M, Jr W: 10km Jr M: 15km Distances are subject t final apprval by the Chief Cmmissaire and Technical Delegate. Distances will be cnfirmed at the Managers Meeting. Madisn There will be a Madisn race fr the Junir categries nly. Please refer t the upgrade sectin fr infrmatin abut 2 nd year U17 riders wishing t cmpete in the Madisn. The distances fr the Madisn will be cnfirmed by the cmmissaires and Technical Delegate during the Champinships based n the number f teams entered. Team Sprint & Team Pursuit Team cmpsitins must be submitted t the race secretary befre the end f the 2 nd sessin the day prir t the team events. Frms will be made available at Riders Cnfirmatin, the Managers meeting and at the infrmatin desk n the infield. 5

Numbers Placement & Clthing As per UCI rules, riders must wear tw (2) numbers in all events, except fr the events listed belw: Kil/500 TT Individual Pursuit Team Pursuit Team Sprint Numbers must be wrn n the lwer back in the fllwing manner: Riders are required t wear clthing that crrespnds with the team/club indicated n their license. Failure t wear apprpriate clthing may result in fines. Independent riders must wear neutral clthing, withut spnsrs. 8. UCI pints The 2018 Canadian Track Champinships p/b Lexus is a UCI Natinal Champinships event and thus awards UCI pints accrding t the UCI regulatins. Please refer t the UCI regulatins fr the table f pints (p ): Click here fr UCI regulatins. 9. Medals, Jerseys & Ceremnies Medals will be awarded in all categries in the fllwing manner: Gld, silver and brnze when there is a minimum f fur (4) entries wh start in a designated categry (ne team = ne entry). Gld and silver when there are nly three (3) entries wh start in a designated categry. Gld when there are nly tw (2) entries wh start in a designated categry. A Canadian Champin jersey will nly be awarded t Canadian Champinships title categries, prviding there is a minimum f 5 starters in an individual events r 3 teams in team events. Nte: Shuld the minimum requirement nt be met in a Canadian Champin title event fr a categry, the winner will have the ptin t purchase a Canadian Champin jersey, but nly if there was a minimum f 2 riders/2 teams wh cmpleted the event in that categry. Fr Para athletes, C1 results will be extracted t establish Canadian Champin titles fr all eligible athletes. All athletes wh have placed n the pdium must attend the award ceremnies. Failure t d s will result in a fine and lss f prize mney when applicable. Riders wh cannt attend the ceremny must advise the Chief Cmmissaire r the Technical Delegate with a valid reasn. Riders must wear their cycling kit t the award ceremny. Failure t d s will result in a fine and lss f award. Riders cannt wear r bring hats, water bttles, etc. n the pdium. Ding s will result in a fine and lss f award. 10. Anti-Dping CCES may cnduct dping cntrl. Athletes wh are selected fr testing will be met by a chaperne when they exit the track. Lcatin f the dping cntrl statin will be identified. Athletes participating in the 2018 Canadian Track Champinships wh require the use f a medicatin that is included n the Prhibited List must apply fr a Therapeutic Use Exemptin (TUE) prir t participating in the event. This applies t all categries f athletes. 6

There will be n day-f registratin. Registratin fees are nn-refundable nce registratin is clsed. N exceptins. Once a rider is registered and n the fficial start list, they will be fined $50 shuld they nt appear n the start line r delay the start f the event withut justificatin (ie: medical reasn) Race numbers will need t be picked up accrdingly t the Race Numbers pick up schedule. Team Events: riders need t register as individuals and submit team cmpsitin accrding t Specific Events Regulatins. Race numbers pick-up, license check & riders cnfirmatin Lcatin Categries When On-site (infield) All Friday, April 13th 8:30am-11:00am Riders have t pick-up their numbers and cnfirm their events during this perid. Anther persn can pick-up the numbers (cach r ther rider), but they will need t present the rider s UCI license. IMPORTANT! If yu are unable t d s (late travel, fr example), yu abslutely need t cntact the Technical Delegate, Jessika Grand Bis (jessika.grandbis@cyclingcanada.ca). A rider that has nt picked up their numbers r infrmed the Technical Delegate f their impssibility t d s will nt appear n the start list. It is very imprtant that accurate start lists are prepared, given the high number f riders in certain categries which may impact the schedule and prgressin f events (i.e. qualificatin runds fr bunch races, prgressin f the Keirin and Sprint turnament, etc.). 13. Accreditatin Accreditatin will nt be required fr these Champinships. Hwever, nly athletes and team staff are allwed n the infield. If yu are nt an athlete, team staff r event staff and yu shuld nt be n the infield, yu will be asked t leave. Media/phtgraphers: please cnsult the Media sectin. 8

9 14. Athletes services Team pits will be allcated based n the number f athletes per team. Smaller delegatins r independent athletes will share a cmmn space. Pits will be clearly identified. Inf Desk: an infrmatin desk will be set near the cmmissaires platfrm. If yu have any questins r cncerns, please talk t the vlunteers at the inf desk. Schedule, results and start lists will be available nline. We will share the link prir t the start f the Champinships. There will be paper cpies f start lists and results psted n the infield. In an effrt t reduce waste, n paper cpies f start lists and results will be distributed t teams/riders. Wi-Fi: there is free public wi-fi in the veldrme. Equipment n the infield: equipment can be left n the infield vernight. Hwever, please nte that there will nt be a security agent present during the night. 15. Medical First aid will be n-site fr all sessins. They will be lcated in the dedicated medical team pit. The medical team will treat athletes, staff, fficials and vlunteers.
