The series-opening setback halted the Hooks win streak at five games. Corpus Christi s lone marker came in the second on an RBI double by Abraham Toro. Frisco starter Jonathan Hernandez survived five walks over 5 2/3 frames en route to the win. With the score level at 1 in the fifth, Jose Cardona worked a one-out walk from Brock Dykxhoorn. Michael De Leon was next and sent a flare single into shallow left field, ending Dykxhoorn s night. Preston Beck, facing Akeem Bostick, then rolled an RBI single 40 feet up the third-base line. Toro made a wild throw to first, which allowed De Leon to score and Beck to advance to third. Luis Yander La O cashed in with a sac fly, his second of the game. Bostick retired 11 of the final 13 men he faced. Samir Vivas, Adam Parks, and Tyler Davis backed Hernandez with 3 1/3 innings of shutout relief. 2 PAGE 2 CORREA REHAB REPORT: Carlos Correa played 7 innings at shortstop for the Hooks last night, in what was his first action since late-june. Correa, working his way back from a lower-back injury, saw 17 pitches in his first two at-bats, but struck out looking both times. He hit into a double play in the sixth. The 2015 American League Rookie of the Year is batting.268 with 16 doubles, 1 triple, 13 home runs, and 49 RBIs for the Astros this season. Correa played in 2 rehab games for the Hooks last season, going 3-for-10 with a double and RBI August 31-September 1 here in Frisco. After recovering from a torn ligament in his left thumb, the Corpus Christi alum went on to hit.299 with 4 homers and 17 RBIs in 25 September games for the Astros. Correa slugged 5 home runs and notched a club-record 14 RBIs in the postseason as Houston claimed its first World Series title. He is the first player in MLB history to hit 7 career postseason home runs prior to turning 24. Osuna has appeared in 15 games for the Blue Jays this season, posting 9 saves and a 2.93 ERA. An American League All-Star in 2017, Osuna saved 39 games for Toronto last year, 2nd-most in club history. The 23-year-old is averaging 10.2 strikeouts per 9 IP in his 4-year Major League tenure.
